Every serve pays a flat rate based on how fast it needs to go out, and you see it in the app before you accept the job. No mileage math, no chasing invoices. The real story is the routed day: your stops come pre-optimized, so serves stack up close together.
It adds up with your pace. On a dense route, four routine serves in an hour is $80 — and rush, priority, and same-day serves pay more per stop. Actual earnings depend on how many serves you complete and how tight your route is.
Rates are per completed serve for 1099 independent contractors.

Every assigned job lands on your phone with recipient details and an optimized multi-stop route. Hand off to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze in a tap.
Record the outcome with GPS coordinates and time-stamped photos right at the door. It syncs the moment you have signal, and queues offline when you don't.

Do I need experience to become a process server?
No. Most of our servers started with no process-serving background. If you’re dependable, organized, and comfortable being out in the field, we’ll train you and get the app set up before your first route.
How much do process servers get paid at Daybreak?
You earn a flat rate per completed serve, set by the service speed: $20 Routine, $25 Rush, $30 Priority, and $50 Same Day. Because your day is routed with stops close together, serves stack up — for example, four routine serves in an hour is $80. What you make depends on how many serves you complete and how tight your route is.
Is this a W-2 job or 1099 contract work?
These are 1099 independent-contractor positions. You choose how much you take on, work your own schedule, and are responsible for your own taxes. Plenty of our servers do this alongside other work.
What do I need to get started?
A reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, a smartphone, and a printer for documents. Everything else — routing, proof capture, and affidavits — runs through the Daybreak app on your phone.
Where is Daybreak hiring process servers?
We’re actively hiring across the Portland metro (Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties), Salem and the Mid-Willamette Valley (Marion and Polk), Eugene/Springfield (Lane County), and Southwest Washington (Clark County / Vancouver). Outside those areas, apply anyway — we’re always growing our network.
Do I need a license to serve process in Oregon or Washington?
Oregon does not require a state license to serve process — servers must be 18 or older and not a party to the case. Washington requires servers to be 18 or older, and some counties ask servers to register. We’ll walk you through any local requirements during onboarding.
How flexible is the schedule?
Very. Take as many routes as you can handle or just a few days a week, including evenings and weekends. You see available work in the app and accept what fits your life.
